Good Morning!
I got an email the other day from a pregnancy website and it included a picture of what the baby should look like at 6 weeks. It was so wonderful, that I can not help but share it! Here is the source. Isn't this phenomenal? Baby should have his facial features starting to form, and his arms and legs are starting to "bud"! Incredible! It goes to show you how fast babies develop! Andy and I have started referring to Baby as a "he" since that is much more personal than "it". If we find out that he is a she, I will correct the pronoun appropriately. Regardless, we are getting very excited!
Even though I am only 5 and a half weeks along, I am technically in my sixth week. Kind of like how Andy and I are in our third year of marriage, but our 3rd anniversary isn't until June. As the days tick off, I am getting more and more excited for our next doctor visit and am very hopeful that they will try to find Baby's heartbeat. I realize that there are no guarantees that they will try so early, but I can certainly hope!
Last night I gave up on the Snoogle pillow (for now). I just could not sleep comfortably, and it is so bulky in bed. Hopefully it will be more comfortable once I have a belly to support! But for now, it is going to sit out. I have been waking up in the middle of the night for at least a week and a half now and find myself needing to make a bathroom run. They aren't kidding about the frequent potty breaks! I find that I always have to go. But once I try to fall back to sleep, I have these crazy vivid dreams. Some sources say that vivid dreams are part of pregnancy, but they are weird! Last night I was an undercover detective in a human trafficking outfit. Don't ask me...no answers will be given ;) All I can say is that I hope Baby is getting rest. One of us has to!
Now for my ever-present pregnancy side effect: nausea. No matter what I eat or when, I know when it hits my belly. I try to eat something every 3 to 4 hours (mini meals/snacks) so that my body stays in the digestion routine. But nausea is all throughout my day, afternoon and night. Still nothing comes up, but I am constantly reminded of Baby. I am glad that I keep feeling these things, though, so that I know that all is still well. The only respite I have from the sickness are non-salted Saltines. Oh my goodness! I love those things! I packed some in my lunch today, too! So amazing!
This will wrap up this update, but I will certainly post something again soon! Tomorrow marks Andy and my "Four Years of Being Together" so we are going to be celebrating by returning to the restaurant of our first date :) I am sure that there will be a post either Saturday or Sunday. God is good!
